Our 'Essigmanngut'

Our family-run boutique hotel lies on the outskirts of the City of Salzburg. Just a stone’s throw away from the unrivalled culture of the Mozart City, yet inmid the nature, it is an ideal basis for your tours and offers peace and comfort for your soul at the same time.

The nearest bus stop is just 200m away, enabling you to negotiate the 5 km journey into the city quickly and easily.

OUR HISTORY

The origins of our 'Essigmanngut' date 500 years back into the past: In 1686 it appears for the first time, documented as 'independent estate under the ownership of Christoph Perner zu Rettenwörth'.

In 1789 it was assigned to our ancestors, the former 'Wintersteller' familiy. They took care of the farm for the next 200 years until it arrived through marriage at our Dobranszky familiy.

In 1973 our familiy decided to turn the 'Essigmanngut'  farm to a small bed and breakfast pension.

In 2011 we, Karl, Kornelia and Daniel Dobransky, determined to completely renovate and refurbish the Essigmanngut to bring its comforts into the 21st Century and let it shine in new splendor.

THE SURROUNDING AREA

Our Boutique-Hotel belongs to the beautiful Anif village on the outskirts of the Festival and trade-fair City of Salzburg. Located at an altitude of 424 m above sea level, it is the perfect starting point for excursions to the hiking and skiing areas of Salzburg County and its wonderful Salzkammergut Lake District.

In Anif itself the parish church’s late Romanesque tower built around 1200 is well worth visiting. In the cemetery here the famous conductor Herbert von Karajan is buried and when you visit the church perhaps you will be lucky enough to hear the dulcet tones of beautiful organ music.
